Welcome

Sir and M'Lady Dine Out a lot - and right across Australia. We know what we like and don't like. We are prepared to try restaurants and share our views. We recognise that not everyone likes the same things (even we don't between the two of us) and not every experience at a restaurant is the same - we all want different things. We have one of Australia's fastest growing diverse restaurant blogs.

BIG FISH TRADING CO - BRIGHTON, UK

Big Fish Trading Co
Brighton Pier
Brighton UK

Perched (no fish pun intended) right at the entrance to Brighton Pier is Big Fish Trading Co. Its a fish and chip shop - not any more or any less. The food here is nice - we enjoyed ours. It was piping hot and tasty and we sat on one of the bench seats on the pier looking out over the water. It was magical.

Our servings were so big that neither of us could finish - and that's an achievement!

Grab some fish and chips and soak up the views as you devour it. Its a very pleasant experience.

  1. Dear Sir and M'Lady

I've been a big fan of your blog since I was alerted to its presence on the web. Its normally only those late night poker shows or thoughts of baillifs returning that keep me from going to sleep but your blog is quite addictive - as Nancy Mitford said of Mussolini's autobiography "its not to be tossed aside lightly, something something..."

Anyway - whilst digesting (no eating pun intended) this recent post I noticed that you inadvertently used the word "perched" to describe the location of Big Fish Trading but an earlier October post - Flying Fish in Pyrmont - also begins with "perched". Did you really unintentionally use the same fish pun twice as stated? because once can be seen as an accident but twice might lead your followers to doubt your credibility. And credibility is nice. Also when I think of perched (no pun intended, or perhaps there wasn't one this time - I'm getting confused!) I tend to imagine a more precarious position - like a bird or an egg or a bird in an egg on the edge of poorly-built nest up high in a tree or cliff or a sniper hiding nearby, but Big Fish looked quite safe and not wobbling vertiginously (although the sign was on the ground - did it fall off? and the menus in the photos are at strange angles so perhaps I just can't see the whole picture?). Anyway just thought you ought to know.

NB - this comments section makes you do capital letter after brackets () Which is the only fault I can see in your otherwise excellent and thoroughly emtertaining blog - which is very good and I've enjoyed it. The photos too - whilst sometimes very dark, slightly blurry or out of focus, skewed, discomforting, surreal or unappetising really do the places justice and reflect the experience well and complement the writing. Too often bloggers leave the bins out of shot and then - where's the context? You can't eat without creating refuse or blogging either and its good you recognise that in what you do. Few others have the foresight.

Wishing you well and I look forward eagerly to your next post.

ps - there may be a space on one of the World's 50 Best judging Panels (Antarctic?) opening up - and Sir or M'Lady would be a breath of fresh air on it.
